Poetry exists because modern men still know nothing absolute of their Being. We think we believe in modern medical science — yet we are now deeply suspicious that medical science has failed us in its promise. We are conscious that it fails to be a total answer to health — it is too costly and has more deadly side effects than benefits. So great is the havoc that placebos are now approaching the efficacy of the most complicated pharmaceuticals. This is a crisis of modern information.
